2022 Annual Meeting Recap

Thank you to all the NOTICe members that ventured out in the rain on Tuesday, November 15th to attend our annual meeting at The Gables!

Here are few photos and a recap from the evening:

Secretary Mary Harris warmly welcomed everyone to The Gables. President Mace Carpenter and Treasurer Karen Branding updated the membership on the state of the organization. We are in great shape for the coming year and look forward to serving Old Town North

The Board of Directors thanked retiring Board Members Karen Branding and Eleanor Quigley for their years of service. We will miss you both!

Mace and Board Member Sumrien Ali unveiled the new NOTICe Logo and members received a new magnet with the logo and QR code for the NOTICe website. Be sure to look for this new logo around the neighborhood soon!

Retiring Board Member Eleanor Quigley introduced the slate of candidates for the 2023 Board of Directors and all were elected. Congratulations to our new Board of Directors: Sumrien Ali, Agnes Artemel, Mace Carpenter, Kathryn Condello, Mary Harris, Steve Kruetter, Melissa Kuennen and Margaret Townsend. Officers will be elected at the December 2022 Board Meeting.

Our Guest Speaker for the evening was former Notice Secretary and current Chair of the Alexandria Traffic and Parking Board James Lewis. James shared with us the process of how City commissions and boards work and what the Traffic and Parking Board takes into consideration related to City Traffic. Thank you James for taking the time to visit and for answering our members questions!

We ended our evening with a meet and greet from some local organizations including Carolyn Griffin from Metro Stage, Austin Flajser and Wish Carr for Carr Development and Margaret Townsend from River’s Edge Yoga and the OTN Farmer’s Market. All shared updates on their organizations and what to look forward to in the community.
